The GlobalDemo.org website has been re-launched! Its a great collaborative website for those, like us, interested in global democracy. I have taken from their about section on the website to give you an idea of where they are heading
I) GlobalDemo.org is a community website for those who see the need of democracy at a global level.
II) Members can share and discuss articles, books, films and proposals for global democracy, as well as network with other activists in their area or region.
III) GlobalDemo.org is also a resource for those new to the idea of global democracy - people who want to find out more in a clear, comprehensible way. Visitors can find opportunities to get involved, either through a group on the website, or through a initiatives and organisations linked through the website.
IV) GlobalDemo.org emerged from a desire for a neutral platform open for every initiative and individual in the gobal democracy movement. We wan´t to unite the movement. As a result, GlobalDemo.org does not support or endorse any particular form of global democracy, but rather encourages members to focus on the shared goal of establishing democracy on the global level while debating the merits of the various proposals.
V) GlobalDemo.org is unaffiliated to any political party, national or otherwise. It is managed on a day-to-day basis by the globaldemo website group, a team of volunteers who work on developing and maintaining the website. We are always looking for volunteers to join our team. The legal umbrella for the website is provided by the Campaign for Global Democracy (CGD), a fully democratic membership association based in the Netherlands.
We encourage all our members to join the website to show Australia's support of our global goal.
